Hey 7th and 8th grade PowerLife men!  It is time for our fall retreat!  That’s right a time all for you, your small group, and some epic times at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp.  Grab a sleeping bag, throw in a flashlight, prep that bug spray and get ready for a great weekend!

Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 25-26

All 7th and 8th Grade BOYS are invited to join us for a two-day, one-night retreat at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp. There will be worship, games, teaching, and food provided. Join us for this fun day and invite your friends! Transportation will be provided by Hope Waukee (pick-up and drop-off location).

Donations will be accepted on Saturday, Oct. 25 between 5:00-6:30 pm and on Sunday, Oct. 26 between 8:00 am-1:30 pm. Join other young adults from REVIVE to serve at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp in Story City for an afternoon of landscaping, trail maintenance, and other outdoor work. Meet at Gateway Market just off of MLK (2002 Woodland Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312) for an optional lunch before heading north. We will leave from the Gateway Market side parking lot after lunch to caravan up together. Be in the parking lot by 12:45 pm to join the caravan! 

Wear clothing suitable for being outside and bring a water bottle and work gloves if you have them. Any weather-related updates for this service opportunity will be posted on REVIVE’s social media accounts.

REVIVE Service Opportunities are staff- and volunteer-led events to help get young adults involved in the community and connected with Hope mission partners. This service opportunity is hosted by Jamie R. and Laura N.

Join us for a time of lunch, learning, and serving! Hope mission partners Prison Fellowship, Many Hands, and Change Course will share about their organizations and how to get involved. Then, participants will impact these organizations directly through a service project opportunity. Register below!

This weekly course, from the creators of Alpha, helps strengthen marriages through developing healthy communication habits, identifying underlying issues, and seeing your partner through the lens of their love language.

***This class is part of several classes participating in Discipleship Sunday where Hope Grimes offers a variety of classes that encourage spiritual transformation. These classes will all come together as a community and share a meal in The Gathering before attending their respective classes. Discipleship Sunday classes currently offered are Alpha, The Marriage Course, Financial Peace University and DivorceCare.

Are you or someone you love hurting from the pain of separation or divorce? DivorceCare is a confidential weekly seminar and support group. Be with people who understand what you are feeling, hear valuable information about how to heal from the hurt of divorce, and learn ways to handle the stresses that go with it. The format includes video teaching, a study guide, small group discussion and prayer.

Please purchase the DivorceCare workbook ($23) at Cafe Hope (Hope WDM) prior to the first class or workbooks will be available at the first class.

Financial Peace University is a biblically based curriculum that teaches people to get out of debt, make a budget and handle money God’s way. After registering with Hope, please also register on the Financial Peace University website where you will purchase access to the class resources.

AA membership is open to all those who desire to do something about their drinking problem. The primary purpose of AA is to carry the message of recovery to the alcoholic seeking help. AA can serve as a source of personal experience and be an ongoing support system for recovering alcoholics.

Ignition is a fun, safe and welcoming place where high school students (grades 9-12) are connected to Jesus. At Ignition, students will experience God through small groups, powerful messages and worship, build meaningful friendships, discover ways to stay connected and continue their faith journey throughout high school.

The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, nonthreatening manner during thought-provoking weekly sessions. Each week, participants meet for a meal and large group talk, followed by small group discussion.

The course includes an Alpha Day Away (Holy Spirit Retreat) on Saturday, Nov. 1, with teachings on the Holy Spirit.

PowerLife is a high-energy, faith-based community for middle schoolers. We believe God is always up to something in our lives no matter the age. At PowerLife, we empower students (grades 6-8) to explore their faith, learn about the Bible and celebrate the ways they notice God moving in their lives.

Time for PowerLife Sunday evenings 6:00 – 7:15pm, weekly.

The Alpha Youth Series gives young people space to explore their questions about life, faith, and purpose. This youth ministry curriculum has been created to enable young people to explore the core ideas of the Christian faith in a relevant, accessible, and engaging way. This series is designed to resonate universally, empowering young people from all walks of life to confidently invite their friends, regardless of their country, context, or background.

High school students are invited to join us for this eight-week course to ask questions, dig deep, have fun, and build community. The Ignition Alpha group will begin the evening with a meal and worship alongside our churchwide Alpha group. Then, Ignition Alpha will break off to have small group conversation while being guided by the Youth Alpha video content specifically designed for teens.

The class offers teachings on key questions such as:

• Why would I want a relationship with God?
• What does a relationship with God look like?
• How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit?
• Does God heal today?

Join us as we ask the big questions and grow alongside one another.
