Role Summary
The Production Coordinator leads all aspects of live production at Hope’s Ames Campus, ensuring worship services and ministry events are supported with clarity, excellence, and care. This role maintains production systems, develops volunteer teams, and partners closely with campus leadership and ministry staff to deliver reliable, high-quality audio, video, lighting, and staging support.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who values both technical excellence and ministry impact.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with campus leadership, worship leaders, ministry partners, and volunteers.
- Serve as the primary production partner for worship services, events, and special programming.
- Identify and implement improvements that increase effectiveness, reliability, and sustainability of production support.
Worship & Event Production
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for weekend worship services, student ministry, Kairos, adult classes, weddings, funerals, holiday services, and special events.
- Plan and prepare for services and events, including scheduling teams, creating stage plots, programming lighting, testing assets, and coordinating rentals as needed.
- Collaborate early in the planning process to offer technical ideas, creative solutions, and realistic execution plans.
Volunteers & Team Development
- Recruit, train and develop volunteers to live out the Production Purpose Statement.
- Equip volunteers with clear expectations, practical training, and encouragement.
- Supervise production staff when applicable.
Systems, Equipment & Budget
- Oversee production audio, video, lighting, and staging systems.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, and installations.
- Prepare and manage the annual production budget in coordination with campus leadership.
- Make equipment purchase recommendations and maintain accurate inventory.
- Coordinate with IT for on-site validation and support of shared systems as needed.
Other
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of Hope’s mission and ministries.
Skills, Education and Experience
Required Qualification
- Strong working knowledge of live audio, lighting, video, and staging systems.
- Experience mixing Front of House and monitors for live bands on large-format digital mixing consoles.
- Experience coordinating wireless microphones and IEM systems in large-scale environments.
- Working knowledge of lighting fixtures, control systems, and programming.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including supervising, equipping, and motivating volunteers or staff.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Mac and Windows systems and Microsoft Office.
Helpful Experience
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
- Experience in church, ministry, or event-driven production environments.
Position Details
Schedule & Work Environment
- Requires evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Typical schedule includes Saturday–Sunday and Tuesday–Thursday.
- Work includes walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working at heights of up to 40 feet.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal limits, with or without corrective devices.
Pay and Benefits:
