Job Summary

Lutheran Church of Hope is looking for an experienced media producer for our West Des Moines campus. Job duties include videography, editing, writing, sound recording and graphic design.

Responsibilities

To provide support for staff and volunteers within the mission, vision, and values of Lutheran Church of Hope by fulfilling the purpose statement of Hope Studio, “To tell the stories of Lutheran Church of Hope and its ministries through visual arts and media, so that the world might share in the everlasting love of Jesus Christ.”  The Studio Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Filling multiple production roles on a project, from shooting, to recording audio, lighting, scriptwriting, editing and motion graphic design.
  • Ideal candidate will be asked to conduct interviews with a variety of staff, members, and mission partners, and help them best present themselves on-camera.
  • Candidate will coordinate with ministry leaders within the church on an ongoing basis to produce media updates to the congregation.
  • Must be able to edit material into a cogent and cohesive story that effectively expresses the message of the project.
  • Find creative ways to express the information ministry leaders are trying to disseminate, so that the congregation remains engaged, and the essential points are not lost.
  • Meet regularly with the Studio Director for debrief, feedback, leadership development and planning.
  • Have a consistent presence at church-wide events (i.e. Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School, large missions events)
  • Support the mission, vision, values, and authority structure of Lutheran Church of Hope

Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Candidates must have several years’ experience working in video production, preferably in several areas of skill.
  • An Associates, Bachelors or other trade degree is preferred.
  • A history of solid cinematography is a must; please bring examples of past work, which can include personal and professional projects, as well as still photography.
  • Proven ability to “equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Eph. 4:12).
  • Ability to supervise, inspire, and equip both staff and volunteers in a wide variety of tasks.
  • Ability to lead, coordinate, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit—views organizational roadblocks with optimism.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
