Production Purpose Statement:   

To transparently resource Hope’s ministries and events through five-star audio, video and lighting excellence. 

Principal Function 

The Production Coordinator provides live production support to meet the needs of Hope Grimes ministry. Live production support includes audio, video, lighting and staging. Ministry needs may include regular weekend and Weeknight programming and special events. The Production Coordinator provides production technical and equipment needs of Grimes Ministrys. (S)/He builds relationships, schedules and trains the production volunteers who support Hope Grimes Production and Ministries.  

General Responsibilities  

  • Develop and maintain a good relationship and open communication with the Ministry partner(s).  
  • Communicate, Coach, Care for and provide oversight of the Production volunteers, in coordination with other Production Team members. 
  • Participate as a team member of the Production Department in specific areas of strength and skill (e.g. live audio production, equipment maintenance, set changeovers, lighting, etc.) 
  • Participate at Grimes weekly services, programming and primary events.  
  • Keep up to date on the use of essential production equipment and technology. 
  • Extra duties as assigned to support Hope’s ministries and mission 

Specific Responsibilities (Depending on Role) 

  • Know schedule of upcoming programming, events and rehearsals for assigned Ministry area(s). Make sure events are on the Production calendar. 
  • Prepare for upcoming programming and events. For example, discusses needs with Ministry leaders before event; reviews Planning Center Online (PCO) for elements, content, equipment needs; updates PCO; schedules volunteers/staff, etc. 
  • Make sure assets are available, tested and ready to use. For example, graphics, video clips, lyrics, motion-backs, audio playlists, etc.  
  • Prepare, set-up and test all production equipment required for rehearsals, programming and events. 
  • Schedule volunteers and make sure all roles are filled before the event. Train and continue to develop volunteers, coach them on using equipment, following cues, working with Ministry partners, having a positive attitude, etc.

Skills, Education and Experience Required 

  • Proficient with Mac and Windows operating systems. 
  • Proficient with MS Office Professional software. 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to supervise, inspire and equip volunteers. 
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal limits with or without corrective devices. 
  • Work involves normal activity of walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting weights up to 50 pounds.  
  • Must also be able to climb ladders and work at heights of 25’ or more on work platforms.

  • Reports to Production Team Lead
