Principle Function

The Hospitality Team Leader is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment in the building, before and during weekend worship, connecting with those who are new to Hope, and building and training a volunteer team to help in these areas.

Ministry Responsibilities

Facilitate safe and welcoming worship and community spaces where people are welcomed and encouraged to explore their faith as they connect in community and grow in their relationship with Christ.

  • Equip hospitality volunteers to provide high impact first impressions
  • Assist with scheduling volunteers for hospitality (set up, greeters, ushers, tellers, New to Hope Ambassador) weekly as well as schedule communion volunteers once a month and on special occasions. (Filling gaps that happen to occur at the last minute.)
  • Continue building and training a hospitality volunteer team
  • Be sure building is orderly and ready for Worship on the weekend. 
  • Oversight of communion (along with the communion lead) on 1st weekends of the month
  • Coordinate the quarterly New Member class
  • Work with the Admin Lead to create and continuously improve follow-up methods to ensure visitors are plugged in to Hope
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, and occasional hospitality meetings Hope-wide
  • Participate at Hope Grimes worship services and primary events

Skills, Education and Experience Required

  • Proven ability to “equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Eph. 4:12) 
  • Provide a positive, joy-filled, team-approach leadership style
  • Extremely strong organizational skills for administration and leadership of team-based ministry
  • Ability to supervise, inspire, and equip volunteers in a wide variety of tasks
  • Ability to lead, coordinate and manage multiple tasks
  • Entrepreneurial spirit – sees organizational roadblocks with optimism 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in small and large group settings
  • Commitment to always reflect in the best possible light Lutheran Church of Hope, its staff, and the mission, vision, and values of its Constitution, as well as the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.

Hours: Part-time (15 hours/week)
Supervisor: Admin/Operations Director
