Principle Function
Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for ministry at Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny, 520 NW 36th St.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides custodial services and maintenance of all aspects of building, ensuring a clean and well-maintained facility for guests.
- Works with team leader to ensure all building rooms are set for programming, classes, and events.
- Activities include but are not limited to general building cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, empty trash, run floor cleaning equipment, cleaning windows, restrooms and other cleaning duties as needed.

Skills, Education and Experience Required
- Possess Christ-centered, joy-filled passion for ministry flowing from a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Ability to identify cleaning needs and carry out the needed cleaning services.
- High attention to detail, organization, and coordination of multiple tasks.
- Ability to operate cleaning machines and to drive maintenance vehicles related to cleaning and maintenance.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform manual labor.
- Ability to prioritize and boundary ministry with personal and family life.
- Commitment to always reflect in the best possible light Lutheran Church of Hope, its staff, mission, vision, and values.
Position Details
Hours: Part Time – 10 hours/week (Flexible) – includes weekend cleaning and support responsibilities.
Supervisor: Building Team Lead
Pay: Commensurate with Position & Experience, based upon National Wage Survey(s) of Comparative Churches
