Principle Function

The Café Hope Kitchen Assistant works alongside the Café Hope Kitchen Manager to assist with breakfast and lunch.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to pay attention to detail and solve problems as they arise in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production
  • Ensure that working areas are always kept clean
  • Assist other kitchen staff and volunteers as needs arise
  • Ensure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food – in quality, quantity, and safety
  • Promote good team spirit regularly
  • Presence & participation at WDM worship services and primary events
  • Extra duties as assigned

Skills, Education and Experience Required

  • Strives to live a Christ-centered life, stemming from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Has worked in a kitchen setting that feeds more than 50 people at a time
  • Able to work with commercial size equipment
  • Ability to cook food to order
  • Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective relationships and communication with church staff and ministries, volunteers, church members, and guests
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity, respects confidentiality and Hope policies
  • Works independently and with confidence, demonstrating initiative and ability to work without close supervision
  • Commitment to always reflect in the best possible light Lutheran Church of Hope, its staff, and its mission

Position Details

Hours: 20-25 hours, Monday-Friday Daytime, Some Holidays
