Principle Function
The Café Hope Kitchen Assistant works alongside the Café Hope Kitchen Manager to assist with breakfast and lunch.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to pay attention to detail and solve problems as they arise in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production
- Ensure that working areas are always kept clean
- Assist other kitchen staff and volunteers as needs arise
- Ensure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food – in quality, quantity, and safety
- Promote good team spirit regularly
- Presence & participation at WDM worship services and primary events
- Extra duties as assigned
Skills, Education and Experience Required
- Strives to live a Christ-centered life, stemming from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Has worked in a kitchen setting that feeds more than 50 people at a time
- Able to work with commercial size equipment
- Ability to cook food to order
- Works well with others, maintaining positive and effective relationships and communication with church staff and ministries, volunteers, church members, and guests
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity, respects confidentiality and Hope policies
- Works independently and with confidence, demonstrating initiative and ability to work without close supervision
- Commitment to always reflect in the best possible light Lutheran Church of Hope, its staff, and its mission
Position Details
Hours: 20-25 hours, Monday-Friday Daytime, Some Holidays

Pay and Benefits: Commensurate with Position & Experience, based upon National Wage Survey(s) of Comparative Churches
