You will know at last that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Might One of Israel. Isaiah 60:16

What’s your dream?

When you slow down long enough for the hustle and bustle of the season to settle in your soul, what remains? What do you long for? What does your heart and soul thirst for?

We all have desires and at the end of the day, all of our hopes and dreams stem from the core desire humanity was created for and lost in the Garden of Eden…

Fellowship with God.

We long for justice. We long for unity. We long for peace.

Peace is found in the baby about to be born in a few short days.

When Isaiah describes the world God’s plan will usher in, the whispers of these desires are evident. “Violence will disappear from your land; the desolation and destruction of war will end. Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of all who enter…” (Isaiah 60:18)

God has promised us not just a return to relationship with him, but an even better experience. A new world where he is in charge and human beings get to reside with him forever. Until then, we wait patiently with the hope of a better future found in him.

Questions for reflection:

  1. What do you need the most these days?
  2. In what ways does the need you articulated resonate with the core human need to be connected to God as the source of life?
  3. How does the promise of the future God has for us impact your posture as you walk through daily life?
  4. What can you ask God for today that will bring you peace and be closer to him? When you get your answer, go and ask for it!
